Ryuta is a sophomore at the College of Southern Maryland, majoring in electrical engineering. During his internship, he is working with Drs. Justin Stine and Wei-Kuo Yen on an autonomous underwater vehicle. The "Buoyancy Operated roBot-tle", or "Bob," can be used in oceanography research to sense pressure. His goals for the internship are experiencing and learning as much as possible, including skills outside of electrical engineering. As a spring 2024 DREEM program participant, he learned how to work on a research project as well as how to present that research at an academic poster session. He became interested in the MATRIX Lab internship when he toured and visited the lab during a workshop phase of the DREEM program.

Ryuta graduated from Leonardtown High School in St. Mary’s County. He is enrolled at the College of Southern Maryland, where he is involved in robotics and engineering activities.
