3D Printing Workshop
Lab equipment includes:
- Markforged Metal X System for 3D printing metal safely
- Markforged Metal X printer for printing component made up of metal particles mixed with wax
- Markforged WASH-1 tank for washing out the solvent, most of the wax
- Markforged SINTER-1 sintering oven for fusing particles together with heat
- Epilog Fusion Laser Engraving and Cutting System for precision cutting and project prototyping of materials including wood, acrylic, and some plastics using a different, convenient, and often faster process
- Stratasys Dimension 1200 SST 3D printer for faster and more accurate/precise printing, resulting in more robust products and functional prototypes
- Also for printing more types of materials without warping as a result of the heated inner chamber
- Stratasys Objet30 Resin 3D Printer for printing high-resolution parts by spraying dots of resin and curing the resin with the UV light inside of the printhead
- Also for printing multiple materials at the same time (for example, you can print a rigid piece with a flexible joint)
- Resin cleaning stations for washing off any remaining liquid resin (liquid resin can be messy, even toxic)
- Markforged Mark Two printer for printing complicated components embedded with materials including kevlar and carbon fiber
- Branson 8800 Ultrasonic Cleaner for removing dirt and contaminations from 3D printed parts
