Metallic Machine Shop
Lab equipment includes:
- Miller Dynasty 210 TIG Welder, specifically for Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding
- Bridgeport manual milling machine with 48” table for manually cutting materials, including mostly any metals
- DATRON neo Series 2 computer numerical control (CNC) milling machine for computer-controlled milling
- Educational and research purposes
- OMAX ProtoMAX water jet cutter for cutting materials including steel, glass, aluminum, plastic, and carbon fiber with less heat, meaning there’s a smaller chance materials will change characteristics like warp or harden
- Mostly educational purposes (30,000 psi)
- Clausing industrial CNC drill for drilling large and small holes, counterboring, and reaming
- Mostly educational purposes (single axis, 20”)
- Clausing Horizontal Wet Cutting Bandsaw Model KC1016W for cutting long pieces of stock into shorter pieces
- Mostly educational purposes (4 speed drive)
- Clausing Kalamazoo Vertical Bandsaw Model V2812 for making small, smooth cuts on irregular shapes
- Clausing/Harrison M300 manual lathe for shaping and cutting cylindrical objects
- CSG818H Clausing 600 Group Manual Precision Surface Grinder for producing a smooth, flat finish on metal
